"My main focus is on the small sculptural pieces which are usually ‘quirky’ or ‘whimsical’ and sometimes carry a suggested narrative. The main components of these pieces are hand built using a grogged porcelain or earthenware clay, which is often textured, before being biscuit fired. Colour is applied using underglaze colours. A clear glaze is then applied before re-firing the work to either 1150⁰ or 1220. Once fired the fun begins, assembling the pieces using a variety of mixed media including wire, beads and feathers and then mounting the whole thing on a clay or wooden base.
I have participated in a number of joint exhibitions including venues such as Guildford House and The New Ashgate Gallery, Farnham, and sold at the Art and Craft Fair at the Lightbox, Woking . I sell my work privately and have participated in Surrey Artists Open Studios for the past 2 years. Member of Wey Ceramics Society".
